What you can play in Adonis, where the demo stops, and how to test the restoration fairly.
The ZENONIA 1 demo appeared for Steam Next Fest in June 2026 and remains the honest way to test the restoration before the August 31, 2026 Steam launch date. Com2us Holdings and CFK built it as about an hour of the opening: Town of Ayles, the road through Garlic Lake, free exploration of Adonis, and a hard stop before Investigating the Cave of Deceit. You will not see Pale, the later seals, or either ending.
This page is the demo manual. The full walkthrough starts overlapping after Adonis and then spoils everything. Stay here if your Steam library still says Demo.
The video in the middle of this page is actual Steam demo footage on a handheld PC, useful for HUD and movement. Pair it with controls.
What you can do
- Pick Warrior, Paladin, or Assassin. Class is still locked. Use the class comparison tool even in the demo — you are practising the real decision.
- Learn the Steam HUD, dash, and skill slots. Demo feedback is why the full version restored the original double-tap dash and afterimage.
- Practice hunger, weight, and repair. If those systems annoy you in Adonis, they will still exist in the Canyon of Despair. Read hunger and weight.
- Talk to Adonis NPCs, meet the early companion thread, and decide whether the script’s humor still lands.
- Farm early rarity gear and food. Do not expect endgame tiers. Items explains why Adonis loot is a sample.
What you cannot do
You cannot pursue the Seal of Deceit. Siliconera and the official dev note both describe that wall. Markers that refuse to complete are the demo boundary. You cannot finish good or evil. You cannot fight Vicious, Vague, Ladon, Virulent, or Lady Charity. You cannot judge the full 40-hour claim from this slice.
If a video shows later caves, it is the original campaign or a full-build leak of structure, not your demo save.
How to test the restoration in an hour
- Spend two minutes in settings: audio sliders, controller or keyboard, dash. See controls.
- Play the prologue and Ayles without skipping every line. You are testing writing as much as combat.
- Buy food, repair, check weight. Then leave for Garlic Lake.
- In Adonis, pick one side request and one field pack. Notice whether hunger or weight shows up.
- Walk to the Cave of Deceit marker, confirm the stop, and quit while you still like the game. That is a successful demo.
If you bounce off combat, try a different class on a new demo save before you write the restoration off. Paladin hides a lot of rust. Assassin hides nothing. Warrior is the control sample. Pages: Warrior, Paladin, Assassin.
Demo feedback that already changed the full game
The August 2026 dev interview is blunt. Longtime players remembered the double-tap dash and the afterimage. New players asked for readable UI, quest guidance, equipment comparison, and combat information. The full version implements the original-style dash and more HUD help. If your demo build feels slightly off on dash, that is a known gap the team says they closed for launch. Details: PC changes.
After the demo
Wishlist or buy on Steam when the full build unlocks. Price was still to be announced in some regional store copy; confirm on the official page linked from the links hub. The full game continues from the same story — the team said the complete journey from the demo stop to the end of Regret’s route is in the launch build.
A Nintendo Switch version is in development and is not a current playable map of this demo. This wiki treats Steam as the platform that exists today.
When the full game is in your library, switch to Getting Started only if you want a recap, then the walkthrough for seals. Keep this demo page as a spoiler fence for friends who are still in Adonis.
System specs for the demo and the full build are on PC requirements. They are unusually high on paper for a pixel RPG; test the demo on your hardware instead of arguing with the store list.
