ZENONIA 1 Steam Next Fest Feedback
What demo players asked for, what already shipped, and what the restoration will not become.
On 9 July 2026 the ZENONIA 1 team posted Steam Next Fest Feedback Review. They thanked everyone who played the Adonis demo and sorted comments into four buckets: already applied, planned for the August 31 launch, still under evaluation, and currently hard to implement. This page is that sorting, plus what Dev Team Interview #01 later confirmed. It is not a patch-note dump. Until Steam publishes a numbered change list, do not invent one.
The video in the middle of this page is 2026 Steam PC demo footage — useful as a look at the HUD players were reacting to. The demo guide is how to play that slice; this page is what the slice changed.
The two audiences the demo revealed
Veterans remembered small motion: the double-tap dash and the afterimage while dashing. New players asked for things that help you understand a 2008 game on a 2026 monitor: UI readability, control guidance, quest guidance, equipment comparison, and combat information. The team said both lists mattered. The full Steam version puts the original-style dash back (direction key twice) with the afterimage. Convenience work kept going through launch week.
That split is why PC changes and this page both exist. One is the identity-versus-friction list. This one is the calendar of “we heard you.”
Already applied, or named as launch work
Confirmed in the July review’s four-bucket framing and later in the August interview:
- Original-style double-tap dash and dash afterimage.
- UI readability and control guidance.
- Quest guidance so a hunt quota is easier to follow.
- Equipment comparison in shops.
- Combat feedback: damage numbers, hit effects, targeting displays.
- Quality-of-life around quick save, batch repair, shop controls, and audio sliders.
- Combat balance and stability work after Next Fest.
Use those tools. Comparison is for the first shop in Ayles. Batch repair is for every town before a seal. Quick save is for alignment forks, not for deleting hunger. Practice dash in a field before the Cave of Deceit. Controls. Hunger and weight.
Still evaluating, and currently hard
The July post said some requests were still being evaluated and some were hard to implement given the restoration’s goal. The team did not publish a public checklist of those hard items. What later interviews made clear they are not adding: a fourth class, an online campaign, a stated respec machine, and a numbered-sequel remaster. Hunger, weight, day-night, and good-evil stay. Alignment. Tier list.
If Discord is arguing for an auto-eat toggle or a weightless bag, treat that as evaluation-or-hard until Steam news names it. This wiki will not upgrade a wish into a feature.
What this means for the demo hour
If you played Next Fest and thought dash felt wrong, the launch build is the one that answered that complaint. If you thought quest text was small, launch UI work is the answer. If you wanted hunger gone, that request sits in the hard bucket by design. Play the demo to test hardware; play the full campaign (Steam date 31 August 2026, 12 AM PDT) for Pale and everything after. Progress carry-over should be confirmed in Steam’s own launcher text — do not assume a Next Fest file is a full-game save.
Side-quest volume stays original, with better guidance. Optional still means optional. Side quests.
How to read the next Steam post
After unlock, look for a real patch note. If it names a number, copy the number here. If it only says “we are listening,” that is the same sentence as July and August — a process, not a changelog. Official doors stay on the links hub. Switch is a separate, undated store event: Nintendo Switch.
Calendar: updates hub. Date sheet: Steam launch. First hour: Getting Started.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new and returning adventurers.
Did demo feedback change ZENONIA 1?
Yes. The original-style dash and afterimage returned, and UI, quest, gear, and combat readability were improved. Details: PC changes.
Will they remove hunger because of complaints?
No. Hunger and weight were named as identity systems. Play them: hunger and weight.

Does demo progress carry into the full game?
Confirm in Steam's launcher at unlock. Do not assume a Next Fest file is the campaign save.
