ZENONIA 1 Map and Locations
Towns, fields, and seal caves in campaign order, including where the Steam demo stops.
ZENONIA 1 is a connected overworld of pixel towns, monster fields, and named caves, not an open-world checklist. The Steam HUD minimap helps you not get lost in a field; it does not replace knowing which region opens which seal. This page is the geography index. Story order lives in the walkthrough. Fight notes live in bosses.
Town of Ayles
Ayles is the first town: inn energy, shops, early NPC requests, and the emotional hangover of the prologue. Learn vendor, repair, and food here. The fields outside Ayles are slime-tier teaching grounds. When the story lets you leave, the road points toward Garlic Lake and then Adonis. Do not treat Ayles as a late-game hub — you will unlock better shops later.
Garlic Lake and the road to Adonis
Garlic Lake is the connector veterans mention when they describe the demo slice. It is a short overworld beat with enough enemies to punish empty stomachs. Restock in Ayles before you commit. If you are using the demo guide, this road is still inside the playable area.
Adonis region
Adonis is the first full region: town services, the dragon-clan thread, Sun, and the approach to the Cave of Deceit. The Steam Next Fest demo is built around free exploration here and stops before Investigating the Cave of Deceit. If a door or quest marker will not open in the demo, it is probably the seal wall, not a bug. The Steam launch page is where the rest of the map unlocks in the full build.
Adonis fields mix standard packs with request monsters. When an NPC wants a drop, farm the named pack near the town, not a random snow biome you found later.
Cave of Deceit (Seal of Deceit)
First real dungeon. Traps plus combat. Pale waits at the end. Story scenes with Parole and Langue sit inside. This is also near the first alignment fork described in good versus evil. On Steam, use quick save at the entrance; the cave is long enough to waste a food stack if you wander.
Seal of Despise
Second dungeon in the chain. Guardian is Vicious or Vague depending on alignment. The overworld approach is a later region unlock after Adonis story letters. If the door is shut, you are missing a letter or a town scene, not a hidden switch. See the walkthrough before you circle the mountain for an hour.
Seal of Greed
The trap dungeon. No traditional boss. The map is the enemy: plates, false floors, and rooms that look like they should have an arena. Dash discipline from controls matters more here than a new rare from items.
Seal of Betrayal
Ghost of Ladon. Longer approach, heavier story. This is the cave players associate with the demon-god plot Com2us still uses when they describe the first adventure. Expect a linear-feeling dungeon with a real arena at the end. Paladin has an easier time; Assassin should not race the corridors overweight.
Seal of Shame
Virulent or Lady Charity. Late-game region. Shops before this cave should be selling the current rarity band — if you are still in Adonis whites, you skipped towns. The items page is the reminder; this page is the “there is a town before Shame, use it” reminder.
Libra Oasis and side fields
Libra Oasis is the side-quest geography people timestamp in long captures. It is not required to open the Canyon of Despair. Go there for levels, gold, and companion errands. Snow fields, desert caves, and forest hollows (including the kind of wooded demon encounter shown in restoration screenshots) sit on spurs off the main road. If the minimap shows a stub path, it is usually a hunt area, not a missed seal.
Canyon of Despair
Final dungeon. Endings. No new town after you enter. Repair, eat, dump weight, and read the alignment page so you know which last confrontations you queued. The canyon is a one-way emotional tunnel, not a hub.
How to use the Steam minimap
The corner minimap is good for field packs and bad for multi-floor caves. In towns, use it to find the shop cluster. In caves, drop a mental note of stairs; lookalike walls are an old ZENONIA joke. The HUD clock next to the minimap is day-night, not a stopwatch. Some overworld packs change at night — see hunger and weight.
Demo versus full map
Demo: Ayles, Garlic Lake, Adonis, stop. Full game: every seal plus oasis side roads plus the canyon. Nintendo Switch is in development and is not a current map of platforms; this wiki’s geography is the Steam campaign. Official store art and community map chatter are linked from the links hub.
If you need a class that survives getting lost, Paladin is the tourist class — Paladin. If you already know the roads, Assassin is faster — Assassin.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new and returning adventurers.
Where does the ZENONIA 1 demo let me go?
Ayles through Adonis, stopping before Investigating the Cave of Deceit. Full regions are in this map after that point.
Is there a fast travel network?
Towns and story gates matter more than a modern warp list. Walk the connectors listed here and in the walkthrough.
Where is the Seal of Greed?
After Despise in campaign order. It is a trap cave without a normal boss. Prep on hunger and weight.
Do good and evil change the map?
The overworld shell stays. Some dungeon guardians and interior beats change. See alignment.
