ZENONIA 1 Class Tier List
Warrior, Paladin, Assassin — who is easiest, who is fastest, who you should pick first.
ZENONIA 1 gives you three classes and no respec. The Steam restoration did not add a fourth, did not add a late-game class change, and did not turn the list into a PvP ladder. This hub is a first-save ranking plus links to the deep pages. If you want numbers side by side, skip to the class comparison tool. If you want stat splits, open builds.
The short ranking (first Steam save)
S — Paladin for new players and anyone who hates surprise damage. High defense, steady pace, easiest seal bosses. You will clear slower. You will clear.
A — Warrior for a blind first run if you already like action RPGs. Balanced, teaches dash without being made of paper. The class the getting started page recommends as a default.
A — Assassin for veterans who remember the dash and want the original “fast and lethal” fantasy. Highest skill ceiling, worst hunger-and-weight punishment, best highlight reel.
There is no D-tier class. The original design is three complete skill trees, not a mobile gacha bench. Rank here means “how painful is a first Adonis-to-canyon save,” not “which one is unplayable.”
How the ranking was made
Criteria: first-hour safety in Ayles, how the class feels in the demo, trap rooms in Greed, and named guardians on the bosses list. Paladin wins safety. Assassin wins speed if you already have hands. Warrior wins “I do not want to think about the meta.”
This is not a Roblox power list and not a season reset. Steam achievements may track clears; they do not reshuffle these three.
Class snapshots
Warrior — balanced and resilient. Official Steam blurb matches the play: swords, enough VIT to live, enough attack to not fall asleep. Full page: Warrior.
Paladin — defensive and reliable. Shield-leaning, boss-friendly, heavier. Full page: Paladin.
Assassin — fast and lethal. Light armor, dash-centric, greedy combos. Full page: Assassin.
Alignment does not change the ranking. You can be a good Assassin or an evil Paladin. Route is alignment; class is this hub.
What to pick in the demo versus the full game
Demo: try Paladin if you only have one hour and want to see story. Try Assassin if you want to know whether the restored dash is for you. Try Warrior if you want a fair sample. Full game (launch date August 31, 2026): Paladin or Warrior first, Assassin second save. That matches the review advice.
Gear and systems that change the ranking
Overweight Assassin falls to B instantly. Hungry Paladin still lives. Broken weapons flatten all three. Keep items and hunger and weight in the same tab as this list. A tier list that ignores food is fan fiction.
Controller versus keyboard does not change the order. Dash quality does. If you cannot double-tap cleanly, do not pick Assassin — read controls first.
After you pick
Follow the walkthrough in seal order. Use the checklist so you do not skip repairs. When a boss name swaps, that is alignment, not a hidden fourth class.
Official flavor text from the store: customize stats and gear, forge a playstyle. True, within one class tree. False, if you hoped to dual-class at level 30.
Deep links stay inside this category on purpose: Warrior, Paladin, Assassin, and builds all point at each other so the Classes dropdown is a closed loop. Guides stay one click away for story.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for new and returning adventurers.
What is the best class in ZENONIA 1?
Paladin is the safest first save. Assassin is the strongest in skilled hands. Warrior is the default. Read each page before you lock the Steam file.
Can I change class later?
No. Start a new save. The comparison tool exists so you choose once.
Does the Steam version add classes?
No. Warrior, Paladin, and Assassin only, matching the 2008 design.
Should I pick Assassin in the demo?
Yes if you want to test dash. No if you want the gentlest Adonis hour. See the demo guide.
