ZENONIA 1 on Nintendo Switch
Confirmed in development — Steam remains the dated August 31, 2026 launch.
Com2us Holdings has confirmed a Nintendo Switch version of ZENONIA 1 is in development. That is not the same sentence as “it launches with Steam on August 31, 2026.” This page keeps those two facts apart so a headline cannot overwrite the store countdown.
The dated platform is Windows on Steam. App ID 4538960. A playable demo already exists for PC. Switch does not yet have a public eShop listing, a locked hour, or a price that this wiki can quote. If a friend asks “can I play it on Switch tomorrow,” the honest answer before an official Switch date is no.
What developers actually said
In an August 2026 Discord interview, a Com2us Holdings project manager (handle “Regret,” formerly Gamevil) listed current priorities as the Steam release on August 31 and the Nintendo Switch version now in development. Additional platforms were not confirmed. The same interview said the team would keep evaluating demand and technical requirements, which is a door left open, not a PlayStation or Xbox lock.
Steam’s own Dev Team Interview #01, summarized on this wiki’s dev interview page, is the restoration pitch: identity kept, friction cut. It does not publish a Switch SKU. Treat Switch as a follow-up platform statement until Nintendo or Com2us post a store page.
Some coverage in early August 2026 used stronger language — “this month on Switch,” Switch 2 backward compatibility as a given. Backward compatibility is how Switch 2 plays Switch games in general; it is not proof that ZENONIA 1 is already certified. Prefer the developer quote over a recap headline.
What the Switch build is likely to be
The restoration’s stated goal is the original adventure on modern hardware: three classes, five seals, hunger, weight, day-night, good and evil. Keyboard and mouse are PC work. A Switch version will need the same campaign with a controller-first HUD, portable screen layout, and Nintendo account wrapping. None of that has been itemized in a public Switch patch list.
Until that list exists, play the Steam build’s lessons as the design intent, not as Switch button maps:
- Class lock is still Warrior, Paladin, or Assassin. Tier list.
- Hunger and weight stay. Hunger and weight.
- Dash on PC is a double-tap direction key plus afterimage after Next Fest feedback. Switch will need an equivalent that feels like a handheld, not like a stretched phone overlay. Controls documents the Steam binds only.
Do not copy Steam key lists onto a Switch screenshot you have not seen.
Steam Deck, Switch, and “portable”
Steam listed Deck compatibility as unknown at the time of writing. A handheld PC is not a Nintendo SKU. People who want a portable ZENONIA 1 have two different products in mind: a Steam machine running the Windows build, and a future Switch cartridge or download. This page is the second. Family sharing and Steam achievements are Steam features. Switch will have its own trophy-or-not conversation when Nintendo posts it. Do not assume achievements transfer.
Demo carry-over and saves
The Steam demo is a separate app (4733680). Progress carry-over into the full Steam campaign should be confirmed in Steam’s own launcher text at unlock. There is no official statement that a Steam demo file will appear on a Switch later. Plan on starting Regret again if you move platforms.

- This wiki. When a store page exists, this article should gain a date, a price caveat, and a control section. Until then the accurate public sentence is: Switch is in development; Steam is August 31, 2026.
If you only have one machine and it is a Switch, wishlist Steam anyway only if you also have a PC. Otherwise wait for Nintendo’s listing. The walkthrough and side quests still describe the campaign you will eventually play; they are not a Switch pre-order bonus.
Other platforms
Original 2008–2011 versions lived on Korean mobile, iOS, Android, DSiWare, PSP, Zeebo, and related stores. Those are history. The restoration’s public targets are Steam now and Switch in development. Sequels (ZENONIA 2 and later) have no announced remaster. Do not treat a Switch 1 announcement as a promise that ZENONIA 2 is next.
